A Year of Green Commitment: Shreeji Group’s 1,20,000-Tree Initiative
Taking a significant step towards environmental conservation, Shreeji Group, Nashik, in collaboration with various social organisations, successfully completed the plantation of 1,20,000 saplings across 100 hectares under the Dandakaranya Abhiyan 2025–26. The first anniversary of this landmark initiative was celebrated at Thangaon, Sinnar, on 1 September 2026 through the Harit Mahasankalp Anniversary Celebration, reaffirming a long-term commitment to protecting and nurturing the environment.
The event was graced by renowned actor and environmentalist Sayaji Shinde, along with several distinguished dignitaries, including Sanjay Yenpure, IPS, Special Inspector General of Police, Nashik; Ayush Prasad, IAS, District Collector, Nashik; Gajendra Hire, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests, Nashik; Bharat Andhale, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Nashik; Omkar Pawar, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Nashik; Siddhesh Sawardekar, IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Nashik; Rakesh Sepat, IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Nashik; Prashant Bachhav, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Nashik; Santosh Zagade, Superintendent of State Excise, Nashik; Rajesh Malpani, Chairman, Malpani Group; and Dr. Sudhir Tambe of Jaihind Lok Chalval, Sangamner, among other prominent guests.
The initiative was undertaken by Shreeji Group with the support of the Maharashtra Government Forest Department, Sinnar; Vanjari and Minority Bhavan, Thangaon; Jaihind Lok Chalval, Sangamner; Malpani Group, Sangamner; and the Joint Forest Management Committee, Thangaon. This collective effort demonstrates how organisations, government bodies and communities can work together towards a shared environmental vision.
The objective of the initiative extends far beyond planting trees. It focuses on the long-term conservation, care and nurturing of the planted trees, with the larger goal of developing a sustainable green ecosystem for future generations. Tree conservation has become increasingly important as environmental challenges such as global warming, soil erosion, declining groundwater levels and changing seasonal patterns continue to intensify. Initiatives of this scale demonstrate the importance of taking meaningful and timely action to protect natural ecosystems.
